AiCARR Journal reports the experience of Thermocold, the first company on the HVAC market using the double cycle technology applied to multifunctional systems, through a technical article which analyzes the innovative DUO technology and reports the data collected by monitoring the performances of an existing installation.The real working data collected of the DUO show how the unit is able to keep the real heating capacity, in winter space heating and hot sanitary water production, constant with any outdoor temperature.
The analysis made shows clearly how the use of multifunctional cascade cycle units with different refrigerants allows to overcome the limits of monocycle heat pumps, making the technology competitive and reliable compared to gas fired systems, even at colder climates and for hot water production at very high temperature.
