The new frontier of the environmentally friendly heat pumps
Thermocold in collaboration with his local agent, Eng. Giuseppe Ranzato, has recently supplied the mass retailer COOP based in Mestre (VE) with an innovative heat pumps system operating with the natural refrigerant CO2.
ECO2 140 SAC, a machine able to develop a heating power of approximately 40kW, has been picked out in order to provide the “Campo Grande” COOP supermarket with sanitary hot water.
The unit supplies a 1000 lt. tank for the sanitary hot water storage, positioned in a technical compartment. The high temperature water is later mixed and redistributed to the plant in order to serve sanitary consumptions and the several supermarket areas dedicated to the gastronomy.
The unit has also been set up for the time slot operating mode, in order to reduce the power consumption. Protection from legionella is guaranteed through the activation of automatic anti-legionella cycles. By raising the water temperature up to 90°C the cycle timing is considerably reduced, permitting the instantaneous bacteria elimination.
ECO2 has been specifically created to combine the sanitary hot water production demand and the increasing sensitivity towards minor energetic consumptions and CO2 emission reductions, pursuant the energetic global challenges and the EU guidelines.
The heat pumps system, together with the utilization of CO2 as a natural refrigerant, allows the achievement of high efficiency levels (extremely high COP in a range of 4.5 in the production of sanitary hot water) and outlet water temperatures (up to 90°C) impossible to be reached with the standard technologies available on the market.
In comparison with the most recent condensing boiler, ECO2 works with substantially higher energetic performances, that is what makes it the only technology able to completely and efficiently substitute boilers.
The undisputed benefits resulting from the utilization of this technology combined with a sensitive cost reduction, in terms of maintenance and assistance, are the added value of ECO2 which makes it the perfect solution, meant to satisfy the complexity of the COOP branded mass retail channel needs.
Among the next scheduled installations we can quote the new COOP supermarket of Carpi (MO), which will be realized in collaboration with CMB as general contractor (a leader company in the field of major works design and realization) for his client COOP Estense, together with our agent Dott. Brussolo. For this site the polyvalent units QUATTRO PROZONE and the double cycle high temperature DUO units have been chosen.
